Legal Resource Centre
During our extensive advocacy and legal interventions in cases of atrocities against Dalits, Adivasis, and women in Rajasthan, we have consistently observed significant adversities, complexities, and hindrances faced by complainants and petitioners in accessing justice and relief through the courts. These challenges often stem from limited access to resources, lack of awareness about legal provisions, illiteracy, poverty, and difficulty in approaching high-level authorities. The inherent complexities, delays, and high costs within our judicial system disproportionately affect the poor, underprivileged, and weaker sections of society, particularly Dalit and Adivasi women, often leading to delays or denial of justice. In this environment of illiteracy and unawareness, victims often miss out on crucial assistance from existing Legal Service Authorities and can unfortunately fall prey to exploitative legal practices, leading to loss of money, time, hope, justice, and peace of mind. To address these critical complexities, the Centre for Dalit Rights, Jaipur, in collaboration with the National Dalit Movement for Justice, has established a “Legal Resource Centre” at the CDR office in Jaipur.
